Bloody hell...what a record!! I just received last week and cant stop listening to it.
This is the story: mid ’70s in Detroit, three black brothers (Dannis, Bobby and David Hackney) were into the Stooges, MC5 and Funkadelic. They decided to put a band together and the result is this blast in the form of a power trio. They self-released 500 copies of a 7" single “Politicians in My Eyes” b/w “Keep on Knocking,” on their Tryangle label in '75.
They recorded 7 songs from the same studio session, that were supposed to be released on LP, but Columbia Records asked the brothers to change the band's name...they said fuck off, and the record was never released until now, when the surviving songs were released in 2009 by
Drag City Records.
